DAY 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Erfoud - Merzouga Dunes (Erg Chebbi) Pick up from your Fes riad/Hotel at 8:00 a.m by your driver, departure to Merzouga where the sand see dunes of Erg Chebbi are located. An 8 hours journey that takes you across the Atlas Mountains to the southern Morocco’s largest oasis; Tafilalet; composed of many villages, palmeries and 2 main Saharan towns, Erfoud and Rissani. We will make many stops along the road at the alpine town of Ifrane, Azrou cedar forest where are the monkeys, Midelt for lunch and Ziz valley at the panoramic and impressive views over the palm trees, the green valley in the middle of the Sahara. Then we'll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. We continue deeper into the desert landscape, until the dunes appear in the middle of nowhere, Overnight Camel Trek in a Berber tented camp. DAY 2: Erg Chebbi - Ziz Valley - Midelt - Azrou - Ifrane - Fes Around 5h30 a.m, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes, possibly the best moment of Merzouga desert, followed by a typical breakfast in the bivouac of Merzouga, then you will ride back the camels, to meet you driver and travel from Merzouga dunes to Fes via the beautiful Ziz valley, Errachida and Midelt. Lunch on the way and short break to watch the monkeys in cedar forests of the middle Atlas close to Azrou city at “Gourrou forests”. You will continue to Fes, where your tour from Marrakech to Fes ends. For information Fes is considered to be the 4th largest city of Moroccan kingdom, it is devide into 3 sections (1:Ville Nouvelle built by French protectorate, 2: Fes El Bali or the interior of walls and ramparts and 3: Fes Jdid). In order to access to the medina of Fes, the main gate is Bab Boujeloud.

DAY 1: Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Errachidia - Tinghir - dades valley We will meet you at your Fez riad or hotel at 8:00a.m., depart and transport over the Middle Atlas mountains through the cedar forests of Ifrane, Midelt and the Ziz gorges towards Sahara. We’ll arrive in Dades Valley. After visiting the Tamnalt hills, we stay Dades valley auberge (small country inn) in the upper gorge. Day 2: Dades gorges/ todra gorges / Merzouga After breakfast we’ll visit Todra Gorge, then head for the Erg Chebbi sand sea. Along the way we pass through folded exposed rock slabs of fossils and can stop and visit a fossil workshop for a closer look at Sahara’s wonderful varieties of ancient life. We continue deeper into the desert landscape, until dunes appear on the horizon. Our mid-afternoon destination is the Riad (small country inn) 5 km from Merzouga, where you meet your camel guide and ride into the bivouac (camp). Upon arrival you will have a traditional tagine dinner prepared (vegetarians welcome) under the evening stars shining brilliantly in the clear night sky. Climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before retiring to your bed in the nomad wool tent. Day 3:Merzouga / Fez Bivouac trekkers return by camel at sunrise to the Riad for breakfast and shower. Depart the desert for long days drive to Fez, traveling through the Ziz gorge to the Middle Atlas mountains. The alpine town of Ifrane is a nice contrast from the desert. You can stop here, before descending to the hilly lowlands where the ancient city of Fez is situated. We can arrange for your stay in a riad in the heart of the Fez medina and arrange for a guide for the next day if you wish. (extra cost[s]).

Day 1: Fez / Dades gorges We will meet you at your (Fez) riad or hotel at 8:00a.m., depart and transport (7 hours) over the Middle Atlas mountains through the cedar forests of Ifrane, Midelt and the Ziz gorges towards Sahara. We’ll arrive in Dades valley of a thousand Kasbahs. You will pass through many Berber villages, and once in the desert, see barren hillsides clustered with kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house many families and their livestock). After visiting the Tamnalt hills, we stay Dades valley auberge (small country inn) in the upper gorge. Day 2:Dades gorgres / Todra gorges After breakfast we have a short drive to walk through a massive fault dividing the High Atlas mountains. Todra Gorge sheer rock walls rises to 300 m in its narrowest part. After lunch you can wander with a guide through palmeries, gardens, and kasbahs for a close look at traditional Berber ways of life. Visit the market in Tinehir and old kasbah quarter. Stay in traditional old kasbah with evening Moroccan dinner by the pool. Our destination is the auberge (small inn) 29km from Merzouga, where you meet your camel guide and ride into the dunes at sunset to the bivouac (camp). Upon arrival you will have a traditional tagine dinner prepared under the evening stars. Climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before retiring to your bed in the nomad wool tent. Day 2: Merzougua Bivouac trekkers return by camel at sunrise to the auberge for breakfast and shower. You can chill out in the dunes or the auberge, or take your car and driver for an off road tour around the Erg Chebbi. We'll stop to visit Nomad families for tea if they are in the region, and you can explore as much as you wish. The village of Hamlia is on your route, and is famous for Gnaoua music. Stay in desert auberge with swimming pool. Includes breakfast and dinner. Day 3: Merzougua / Saghrou montain / Dades gorges We'll drive off road today, traveling through the Saghro mountains.Along the way we pass through folded exposed rock slabs of fossils and we can stop and visit a fossil workshop for a closer look at Sahara’s wonderful varieties of ancient life. Before Dades valley of a thousand Kasbahs. You will pass through many Berber villages, and see green riverside oasis and barren red hillsides clustered with kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house many families and their livestock). Stay in upper Dades valley auberge, with dinner on the terrace, overlooking the valley gorge and gardens. Day 4: Dades gorgres / Todra gorges Our next destination is Tinehir,we'll have a visit to Todra Gorge, where sheer limestone walls rise to 300 m in its narrowest part. After lunch you can wander with a guide through palmeries, villages, gardens, and kasbahs for a close look at traditional Berber ways of life. Visit the market in Tinehir and old kasbah quarter. We will stay in an old kasbah, with evening Moroccan dinner by the pool. Day 5: Todra gorges / ait hani / imlchil / Fes Our next destination is a drive off road (weather permitting) across the mountains to explore in the Village of Imlchil where it’s happened each years on the end of month 8 / 27 until 1 Sptembre fistivale of the betrothal. This tradition goes back to the time where Ait Hadiddou nomads, met once a year to exchange the products of crops and livestock, and building alliances is gave birth to the legend of the betrothed. It continued until today. The moussem also have a festival of colective mariage & traditional music… and the remote village we will contunue our drive through varied and preserved landscapes. Arrival in Fez approximately 6 p.m. You will need to book a hotel in Fes this night or we can book a medina riad including breakfast.
